I don’t know about you, but I LOVE sleeping in.
I don’t get up until the last possible moment. I may hit the snooze button 3 or 4 times before finally getting up. Yeah, I get woken up every 8 minutes – but I know I have 24….16….8 minutes left before I have to get up!
It turns OUT the best time for me to get things done is…you guessed it, early morning.
So, I did some research and came up with 3 EASY steps to force yourself to actually get up early, so you can quit procrastinating and get the things done that need to get done. I’m going to share them with you below/
How to get up Early in 3 Easy Steps:
Step 1: Get Excited!
Now I know this may NOT be what you want to hear – but the night before you need to get up, think of the reason WHY you’re getting up.
Granted, this could be anything – working out, getting to work early to work on that new project, taking your dog for a walk – regardless, think of that reason and visualize it.
In the morning when you first wake up, make sure to REMEMBER that thing you’re getting up for – and that will help motivate you to get up, yes – really!
Step 2: Jump out of Bed
This may sound crazy, in fact I thought it was crazy when I first read it. Jump out of bed, LITERALLY.
Like, seriously – jump out of bed, spread your arms out in the air like you’re shouting to the world “I’m awake!”.
I tested this, scared my dog, but I tested this and it DOES work! LOL
Step 3: Put your Alarm Clock Across the Room
This is probably the best way to avoid that dreaded (and adored) snooze button. It might not be best if you’ve got a spouse or significant other in bed with you, but it does work. Get up, turn off your alarm clock, use the restroom – and you’ll be much LESS likely to go back to bed. OH – also don’t forget to think of the reason (see #1) WHY you’re getting up early to begin with!
Anyways, I know this is simple and I hope you found this useful – feel free to click on “like” below if ya did!
Here’s to getting up early and being more productive! 🙂
