Mobe Review (Matt Lloyd)

June 9, 2018, Update: It Appears MOBE’s Websites Are Having Some Issues and their websites are down for the time being, for my #1 Online Recommendation, Check out THIS Free Training

June 10, 2018 Update: According to my OWN sources, MOBE’s Web Host was contacted by the FTC and forced to shut down all websites with zero notice.

June 11, 2018 Update: The FTC has release a Press Release on MOBE being halted:

The Federal Trade Commission has charged three individuals and nine businesses with bilking more than $125 million from thousands of consumers with a fraudulent business education program called MOBE (“My Online Business Education”). A federal court halted the scheme and froze the defendants’ assets at the FTC’s request.

According to the FTC, the defendants behind this international operation target U.S. consumers—including service members, veterans, and older adults—through online ads, social media, direct mailers, and live events held throughout the country. This action follows the agency’s recent action against Digital Altitude, LLC, a competing business opportunity scheme that was also halted by court order.

The FTC alleges that the defendants falsely claim that their business education program will enable people to start their own online businesses and earn substantial income. They claim to have a “proven” 21-step system for making substantial sums of money quickly and easily from Internet Marketing, which they promise to provide to those who join their program.

According to the complaint, consumers who pay the initial $49 entry fee for the 21-step program are bombarded with sales pitches for membership packages that cost thousands of dollars, which the defendants pressure them to buy in order to continue through the 21 steps. The defendants eventually reveal that their “proven system” for making money is for consumers to sell the same memberships to others in the hopes of earning commissions on those sales.

Most people who buy into the program and pay for the expensive memberships are unable to recoup their costs, and many experience crippling losses or mounting debts, including some who have lost more than $20,000, the FTC alleges.

The FTC also alleges that the defendants offer refund and money-back guarantees to further mislead people to believe the program is risk-free, but they often refuse to honor refund request, or they provide refunds only after buyers make persistent demands or threaten to complain to the Better Business Bureau or law enforcement agencies.

The defendants are Matthew Lloyd McPhee, also known as Matt Lloyd, an Australian living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Russell W. Whitney, Jr.; Susan Zanghi; MOBE Ltd., also doing business as MOBE, My Online Business Education, and My Own Business Empire; MOBEProcessing.com Inc.; Transaction Management USA Inc.; MOBETraining.com Inc.; 9336-0311 Quebec Inc., also d/b/a Business Education Training; MOBE Pro Limited; MOBE Inc.; MOBE Online Ltd.; and Matt Lloyd Publishing.com Pty Ltd., also d/b/a Matt Lloyd Publishing and Home Business Builders.

The Commission vote approving the complaint was 5-0. The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, entered a temporary restraining order against the defendants on June 5, 2018.

NOTE: The Commission files a complaint when it has “reason to believe” that the law has been or is being violated and it appears to the Commission that a proceeding is in the public interest. The case will be decided by the court.

You can read the entire Press Release Here, though I copied it in it’s entirety above.

Mobe is gone, there is a very small chance they’ll be able to recover from this unfortunately, as the FTC is known for making really strong cases before they take action.

im a single mother trying give my 6 year old son a better life so I went against my better judgement and paid way too much money thinking i could provide a new for him while you send your shitty book and con people with your mediocre websites and fake people. how can you allow yourself to trick people like myself and possibly many others who have much less than me by giving them false hope thinking that their dreams will be fulfilled! I went into this thinking I was going to get above and beyond for what I put in to this business and got fucked over because of some tricky scheme who evidently got someone rich! well I hope you don’t get exactly what you put into this business I hope what you lose every single cent you ripped away from hard working civilians like myself. I thank and have the utmost respect for the people who brought this P.O.S to justice! you deserve to go to the clink just like all the others who were products of their environment and let them show you how it feels to be the lowest man on the totem pole or as they like to call it “fresh meat” how dare you take money from people who had faith in you! millions of people like me who are desperately trying to rise above the economy and this shit hole of a government were forced to live in and make it out alive and well. but I guess that’s what greed does to ya, like heroin once you get a poke makes you hungry for more. well here’s my one and only time ever trying this hypothetical drug that we all call mobe ; may our paths never cross and our circles never touch again………. fuck you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Greg D Lowery says:

I have been with Mobe for 1 yr.and am at the s&g level. I have not attempted to sell anything and I’m ok with that because while going thru the 21 steps I inadvertently increased my offline contractor business considerably. I have owned and operated 13 companies since 1975 and have had considerable entrepreneurial experience and still was able to learn and be motivated by Mobe.

I sincerely hope things end up positive with the FTC so Mobe can resume operations and I can continue fulfilling my goals with them!

  • Isaac Anim says:

It is very sad to see that people are taking advantage of MOBE’s shut down to promote their own products.

For me, MOBE was and still is the best affiliate program I have ever seen.

I don’t think I have ever seen any affiliate network that gives out free cars for earning a certain amount of commission.

I seriously don’t think, I have seen any affiliate program that provides a retreat at a luxurious destination for it’s top earners.

I seriously don’t think I have seen any affiliate program that provides the kind of training MOBE provided.

I agree 100% with Ukachi, Just $10 can provide 10 adult meals. This was a great opportunity for Africans as every other opportunity I can think of is limited to only the US and other developed countries. I tried starting a dropshipping business but I couldn’t because every payment processor I came across does not support my home country(GHANA).

Sorry to all those who couldn’t make some money after joining MOBE but I think it’s their fault.

Because they think it is going to be a push button to riches scheme and that they did not need to do any work but just pay $49 and the money will start flowing. I remember clearly in one of Matt Lloyd’s facebook posts that “if you are on your last $49 and you want to join out of desperation, DON’T”.

Most of the people who couldn’t make any money with MOBE are those who joined the program out of desperation, hoping to make some quick bucks. Little did they know that it does not work like that and they need to work hard.

This is should serve as a warning to everybody, that there is no quick way to online riches. You have to put in the work.

I wish Matt Lloyd’s and his team Good luck in the hearing scheduled for 17th July(Not so sure of the date). I pray they come out winners.

  • Ukachi Onyema says:

There may have been issues with paybacks. Also, awareness, time and economic changes may have affected sales for some MOBE marketers. Nothing remains the same you know.

But for me, MOBE was a NEVER Scam – unless I don’t understand the definition of that word.

There may be need for a reform – like not allowing people who never got up to $1,000 or $2,000 in commissions to attend the Titanium events and so on. I vividly recall Matt advised you don’t even start the Gold Masterclass if you have not implemented the activities in Silver. I don’t know about other coaches by mine was very clear about everything till I willingly postioned at Silver & Gold. Made my first sale and was weeks to my 1st Silver Sale before the shutdown. As I write, no one in my whatsapp group of 57 aspirants and 3 members (60 of us in total) has been willing to leave the group even after sharing the news and link http://www.bernet-receiver.com for update. We all know the unique knowledge and value we receive from that group on daily basis. I still have my hardcopy S/G package and the info there is enough to help monetize my already existing website in my education niche.

What US is very eager to throw away at the moment, we in Africa are wishing they dump it behind our backyard for us to pick up, reform, and gain from.

Which other affiliate market educates one so much as to be bold enough to start up a real biz from scratch online or offline?

Which other affiliate market has a compensation plan that’s same for everybody in the entire planet (you know what this means to Africans? – Each $10 comfortably provides at least 10 adult meals).

Which other affiliate market givea you an opportunity to gain over $1,000 per sale of a product? Try others and notice how difficult it is to gain $100.

Which other affiliate market is able to make you an international millionaire even when you don’t wish to build your own biz but by just leveraging one company.

MOBE had an opportunity that could benefit those who wished to build their businesses but did not know how, those who did not want to build a thing but wanted to make money marketing other people’s businesses, and also the best opportunity for those who wanted BOTH.

I don’t know how many lost their money but I remember Matt saying you are gonna be put on the driver’s seat of a car, with the keys, accelerator, etc. to drive. My coach gave me an option of finishing the 21-steps if I could not purchase Silver. I chose to stop, look for the money, purchased Silver and had Gold as bonus. TILL DATE, I HAVE NEVER REGRETTED DATE BOLD DECISION.

Thanks Matt for opening my eyes to what’s obtainable. Many dreams have been made achievable within these few months I met MOBE.

    • Jeff Lenney says:

      Fantastic Ukachi, thanks for sharing!

      • Ukachi Onyema says:

I have a totally different feeling from this whole thing. FTC might be fighting a just cause in their reports but there may be an ulterior motive somewhere to all this.

Clickbank, Wealthy Affiliates, and some of those well known large markets never permit memberships from this side of the world. MOBE IS OPEN TO ALL, as long as your country permits you.

Facebook has been facing a serious session with the Court/Senate, even while Zuckerberg admits many lapses. By FTC’s report, MOBE has been under investigation since 2013. How did it take the US 5 solid years to realize MOBE violated a section of their laws?

However they wish to swing their hammer, majority of both MOBE beneficiaries and complainers are still in the US.

Considering the fact that half of what I paid to acquire what I have in S/G package today was delivered to my sponsor; that I would have recouped my expenses with just 2 sales of Silver (1 already on the way b4 shutdown); that I still have enough info to build my already initiated biz; and there was a
unique system that could scale my revenue beyond expectations (not to mention the whole lot of tools and training still locked online by FTC), I ONLY FEEL MATT LLOYD SHOULD HAVE SOLD HIS PRODUCTS COSTLIER!

I can vividly remember how much I spent for an MSc. as an international student in the developed world.

  • igor says:

The complaint description of MOBE pretty much matches my experience. The 21 steps I went through were simply a thinly veiled sales pitch for the higher levels using the fear of missing out to great effect. Once I got to the end and my coach realized I was not going Platinum he refused to answer any of my calls. At the Titanium event, 2016, where many of us told Matt his coaches were scammers, they were replaced. With the launch of Silver and Gold plus the promise of certification, things were looking promising, however the training in these levels was poor value for money and was full of padding.

Ultimately I walked away from MOBE as it did not provide the training promised in the 21 steps or the many sales pitches, the focus as the FTC found was on selling the product rather than creating people capable of standing alone with their own business thanks to the MOBE training. Thus I could not promote this and ensnare others into this pyramid scheme.

  • Cherry says:

Hey Jeff – I was interested in the webinar you linked to above (John Crestani) but at the end, I realised it’s basically about joining John’s MOBE team, with a few bonuses for other affiliate selling techniques. So I don’ t see how this is an answer for all us ex MOBE people?

    • Jeff Lenney says:

      Hey Cherry,

Great question, actually! MOBE was just one of the affiliate programs discussed in the back end due to it’s ability to offer more training, and of course much higher commission and payouts.

Having said that, I’ve been told it’s now been removed from the training and structure of Johns product, so if you do want to sign up with it – I FULLY recommend it still. 🙂

      • Cherry says:

Thanks Jeff! I’ll be checking it out again 🙂

  • Daniela Petrillo says:

I dont know nothing about legalcy or if mobe is scam or not, the only thing I relaly know is thay I payed 1100 dolars for a course and probably I will not recover my money back.

    • Jeff Lenney says:

      Hey Daniela

Honestly, the training was quite amazing. I’m not sure what they’ll be doing about customers payments, unfortunately. 🙁

Sorry to hear of your loss

  • Robert H says:

Not bad at all i actually started Mobe a few weeks ago and i made to step 5 and then everything go shut down lol

  • YOU ARE A SCAM says:

    • Jeff Lenney says:

      I’m a scam? that’s not very nice 🙁

    • Tihamtu Chaos-Dragon says:

      A. The FTC just started the investigation!
      B. The FTC assumed that MOBE was guilty BEFORE they even started their investigation, and CLOSED EVERYTHING DOWN WITHOUT JUST CAUSE!!!!
C.The FTC has VIOLATED MY RIGHTS!!! My RIGHT TO FREEDOM & The Pursuit of Happiness!
      D. Here YOU are, Making your decision “BEFORE” the investigation is even over too!!

      • Jay says:

They don’t care if it’s a scam or not. All they want is money. That’s what you can do when you have too much power and an unlimited amount of resources. Basically, make up a reason and close things down.

  • Tihamtu Chaos-Dragon says:

MOBE is AWESOME!!! They have Totally Taught me everything they said they were going to teach me! And I am looking forward to the day they WIN this stupid case! Because I was looking forward to a LONG working relationship with MOBE!!

I bought in at the lowest tier… where I still have to do all the work involved with growing my business. If I had had the funds to start with the top tier they would be doing all the work for me… that is the difference. So YES, I am doing so much work and it is an onion worth of work… you are continually peeling away the layers to find something else you need to do. But once you are done, it’s done and you don’t have to do it again!

No, I haven’t made a dime yet, I am still laying the foundations of my business … 8 months later. But the lessons I was taught about what I needed to do and how I can do it, have shown me the way to do EVERYTHING I wanted to achieve … and I have been steadily working towards that goal.

And for the record … I am on Social Security Disability and I don’t have much extra to spend on anything, and I STILL think it was the BEST purchase I have ever made!! I am convinced it is my way to GET OFF Social Security Disability .. Permanently!!

Now just because someone didn’t want to do the work involved with growing their business, and yes it is as I said… a TON of work … they have taken it upon themselves to sever MY connection with the organization I paid good money to join, MOBE. I am Totally happy with what I am receiving … with the training and the coaching that MOBE has given me.

I have 4 college degrees, and none of them have given me the information I wanted to learn… the information MOBE has given me. The investment I made in myself to join MOBE was WELL WORTH IT!!!

I will go to court and testify to this as well!! I want to be reconnected with the organization I have come to LOVE!!!

  • Richard says:

what is the cost to upgrade to the silver level?

  • Sara Sara says:

After joining when can you get the first payment and how much can you make roughly monthly minimum?

    • Tihamtu Chaos-Dragon says:

That depends on you and you current situation.

If you start at the Silver Master class, you will have a lot of work to do to get things set up, so that it all runs behind the scenes for you. If you start at the Diamond Master class, MOBE does everything for you and you just have to pay for advertising. Masterclasses in between these two have their own programs as well.

Either way you are going to have expenses over and above the cost of your MOBE training, for the services you need to make everything automatic.

Once you have your sites set up, and your other foundations built … you buy advertising to your site, and create content for social media (or buy content for your social media).

Then it’s a numbers game… The more advertising you can buy, the more sales you will get. The more content you place on the web, the more people get to know you and follow you. The more people following you the more free advertising you get from them passing your thing on to other people.

Then you re-create the things you learned with another product, may be from another company. And now you have two small business’s making money for you in the background… then you do it again… and before you know it… you have lots of money coming in to your bank account, from multiple sources, while you are doing other things.

So how long does it take? That depends on how much you have to invest in yourself and your business as well as how much time you have to devote to your new business. MOBE gives you all the training you need… at every step. If you start at Silver… you can work your way up… and yes it is a lot of work… but once it is done… you don’t have to do it again, unless you want to.

How much can you make.. roughly… depends… if you buy the 21 step program and then do nothing… you will make nothing.

If you Buy the 21 step program and then go through it… without buying a master class level… it will depend on the products you currently have and are selling…. what you learn in the 21 steps and the social media training will help you sell ANY product online.

If you buy a master class level with MOBE… you now have a product to sell… depending on the master class level you are able to invest in, will determine your top commission amount from MOBE.

You make about 40 bucks from the 21 steps, you make between $1250 & 10K per Masterclass sale with MOBE… but you only make the commission for the masterclass levels you own.

So if you start as a Silver Masterclass you will make 40 bucks from every sale of the 21 steps, and you will make $1200 for every sale of Sliver masterclass, and nothing for any sales of master classes higher than you.

If you start at Diamond you make 40 for every 21 steps and 1200 for every silver masterclass, 3500 for every titanium masterclass sale, 5500 for every Platinum masterclass sale and 10k for every Diamond masterclass sale.

How many sales you get will depend on your advertising and your foundations. It is not a get rich quick scheme, it is a business and it takes time to learn it as well as to build it.

I am on the tightest budget ever, SSDI, and it has taken me 8 months to get all my foundations…almost…done. I am a couple weeks from having all my stuff set up the way I want it. Next Month I start advertising. an I am starting with a $60 advertising budget, so I expect to get a few sales of the 21 steps and may be one or two sales of a silver masterclass over the first three months… then I can up my advertising budget, and get more sales faster. As I said at this point it is a numbers game. The more I can put in to advertising the more sales I can expect… because you are going to get a percentage of the people looking at your ad. may be 1% to start, and going up to about 10% once you have everything tweaked.

Could I have gotten up and running faster then 8 months… oh yes… I have been stuck on a video about me for the last 6 months…lol. But I have had a very traumatic life, and I had not even gone through everything with my therapist yet… so that is to be expected. I am in the final stages of editing that video now, so with that done, I am ready to rock and roll… everything else was done month and months ago, although I am still tweaking all my wab pages. I am a perfectionist, so a video about me…with me in it… hehehe, has to look good, otherwise this would have been done a long time ago too.

So there you have it… you can make money, but it depends on you. You can do it fast or slow… depending on your time and how “perfect” it has to be before you are satisfied with it. And you can make a little or a lot depending on how consistent you are with posting content to the internet as well as how much you are able to spend on advertising and what amount you are able to invest in products to sell.

But at the moment… you, like me… have to wait for the site to be up and running again..since the Federal Trade Commission took it upon themselves to eliminate the ability to connect with MOBE and to have any access to the training materials I purchased.I am pretty upset with them for doing that, I even called them today to file a complaint against them, the FTC.

      Have a great day!

  • Ginger Scott says:

          • Jeff Lenney says:

            Hey Anonymous

While I”m not big into MLM types of training, The 21 steps were pretty damn legit.

            My $0.02

      • Amy Blasingim says:

I agree Tyrone. No one is forcing people to invest in this and it NEVER said you would get rich quick or that you would not have to work on it! And it DOES have a “money back” The program has built into it that they will pay you back your $2,500 or $5,000 investment after you make 2 sales of the same product. Also you don’t have to sell their product you can create your own(BTW it shows you how to do that)!

    • Linda says:

I agree with you Tyrone! If nothing more, The 21 steps program and all the other positive learning tools that was offered has enhanced my mindset.

The FTC need to go after those real estate people as well as business opportunity that promise to help people make money.

I done most of them and have paid hundreds/thousands to be a part of and never got all my time/money back.

MOBE is the only one that I have been able to apply to my daily living.

This county is always going after the wrong thing. This county throws money to outsider daily.

For most of us, they are not willing to help develop and help us succeed. Wishing the best.
