Legit Email Processing Jobs Do Not Exist! (The Brutal Truth)
The TL;DR Version (Because I Know You’re Busy)
Look, I’m just going to save you from reading this whole article unless you really want to: legit email processing jobs (with or without investment) DO NOT EXIST. They’re about as real as my chances of becoming the next Batman. These “opportunities” are just out to scam you faster than you can say “Why didn’t I listen to Jeff?
But hey, if you want to know why these “jobs” are as fake as my high school girlfriend (don’t ask), keep reading. I promise it’ll be more entertaining than watching paint dry. Slightly.
The “Too Good to Be True” Red Flag
Picture this: You’re scrolling through the internet, probably looking for cat videos or trying to figure out why your toaster isn’t working (pro tip: plug it in), when suddenly you see an ad:
“Make $25 per email processed! Work from home in your pajamas! No experience needed!“
And you think, “Hot diggity dog! I can finally quit my job at the rubber band factory and live the dream!”
Hold your horses there, partner. Let’s think about this logically for a second (I know, I know, thinking hurts, but bear with me).
Why This Smells Fishier Than a Tuna Factory
- Companies aren’t stupid (well, most of them): Why would they pay you $5 or even $0.50 to send emails when they can automate that faster than you can say “You’ve got mail”?
- The math doesn’t add up: These scams promise you can make $250 a day, $7,750 per month, and $93,000 per year. That’s like saying you’ll get paid CEO money to watch Netflix. Spoiler alert: You won’t.
- No skills required? Really? In what universe does a high-paying job require zero skills? That’s like saying you can perform brain surgery with no medical training. (Please don’t try that at home.)
The Email Processing Scam: How It Really Works
Alright, let’s break down this scam faster than my resolve on a diet. Here’s the not-so-magical process:
Step 1: The Bait
You come across an ad or video promising you can earn big bucks processing emails. It’s usually something like:
- “Earn $25 per email processed!“
- “No experience required!“
- “Be your own boss!” (Because who doesn’t want to boss themselves around, right?)
They might even show you a fancy table like this:
Emails Processed Per Day | Amount You Make Per Email | 100% Guaranteed Daily Income |
---|---|---|
5 | $25.00 | $125 |
10 | $25.00 | $250 |
25 | $25.00 | $625 |
50 | $25.00 | $1250 |
Looks legit, right? Wrong. It’s about as legit as my claim to be the long-lost heir to the throne of Genovia.
Step 2: The Hook
You’re intrigued. You’re excited. You’re already planning how to spend all that sweet, sweet email processing money. So you pay the “activation fee” (usually around $25 – how convenient).
Step 3: The Shocking Truth
Drumroll, please… You get your “information package,” and guess what? It’s not about processing emails at all! Surprise! It’s actually instructions on how to post ads online – just like the one you fell for.
You’re taught how to:
- Spam forums (because everyone loves that, right?)
- Make fake videos (Academy Award, here you come!)
- Post flyers around your neighborhood (nothing says “legitimate business” like paper on a telephone pole)
- Create social media posts (because your friends haven’t unfollowed you yet)
The Ugly Truth: It’s a Pyramid Scheme in Email Clothing
Here’s how you’ll really be “processing emails”:
- You post ads telling people they can make $25 for every email they process.
- Someone sees your ad and thinks, “Wow, this sounds great! Almost as great as that email I got from a Nigerian prince!”
- They pay you $25, and now you have to “process” their email by sending them the same instructions you got.
- Rinse and repeat until karma catches up with you or you run out of gullible people on the internet (spoiler: you won’t).
It’s a pyramid scheme, folks. And not the fun kind with mummies and curses. Just the boring kind with disappointment and empty wallets.
But Wait, There’s More! (History Edition)
This “process emails from home” scam is actually a modern twist on an old classic: the Work From Home Stuffing Envelopes Scam. This gem started during the Great Depression in the 1920s, proving that scammers have been recycling ideas longer than hipsters have been recycling mason jars.
The Experts Agree: It’s a Scam
Don’t just take my word for it (even though I’m devastatingly handsome and trustworthy). Check out what the experts say:
- The Better Business Bureau (BBB) warns about this scam. They even made a video about it, probably because reading warnings is too much work for some people.
- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) also warns about this. And when the government takes time away from redacted to warn you about something, you know it’s serious.
A Personal Confession
I’m about to blow your mind: I own multiple businesses. I know, I know, try to contain your shock. And guess what? My emails are more automated than my response to my mother-in-law’s invitation to dinner:
- Sign up for my email list? You get a free guide and a follow-up sequence faster than you can say “Why did I do this?”
- Buy something from one of my eCommerce stores? Your receipt and shipping info are sent quicker than I can come up with another analogy.
- Want a refund? It goes to my helpdesk faster than my hair went gray after having kids.
The point is, there’s not a single business on this planet that’s going to pay you $93,000 per year to send emails. If there was, I’d have hired my cat to do it by now. (He types surprisingly well for someone without opposable thumbs.)
So, What Now? (Besides Crying Into Your Cereal)
I have good news and bad news:
- Bad News: You’re not going to get rich quick processing emails. Sorry to burst your bubble like a kid with a pin at a birthday party.
- Good News: Making money online is a real thing! And it’s way more lucrative than these scams. How do I know? Well, remember this blog you’re reading? Yeah, I run it. And I make money with it daily as an affiliate for programs that teach people how to really make money online.
The Real Deal: Affiliate Marketing
Now, I’m not going to promise you’ll be swimming in cash like Scrooge McDuck. But affiliate marketing is a legitimate way to make money online. It’s how I afford my collection of novelty socks and premium cat food.
Here’s the quick and dirty version:
- You promote other people’s products
- Someone buys through your link
- You get a commission
- Repeat until you can afford that life-size Darth Vader statue you’ve always wanted

Don’t mind the flashiness of the video, it may seem too good to be true, he’s the real deal and I would not recommend him otherwise.
Final Thoughts (Because All Good Things Must Come to an End)
Remember:
- If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
- No one’s going to pay you big bucks to do something a monkey could be trained to do (no offense to monkeys).
- Real online businesses take work, but they’re worth it.
And hey, if all else fails, you can always start a blog about why email processing jobs are scams. It worked for me!
P.S. If you’re still tempted by “email processing jobs,” remember: the only thing you’ll be processing is disappointment. Save your money for something more worthwhile… like my upcoming course on how to become a professional pillow tester. (Kidding! See how easy it is to fall for this stuff?) 😉
P.P.S. Want to learn about a REAL way to make money online? Check out my article on retail arbitrage. It’s like email processing, but actually legit and without the soul-crushing disappointment. Plus, you get to feel like a treasure hunter at your local Walmart. Win-win!

I fell for the $25 EPS trip myself about 10 years ago. Once I realized how I’d been played, I had to take a hard look at whether or not I was going to try to get my $ back (& likely more) by doing the same thing to other suckers. In the end, I decided not to do so. Additionally, all of the “advertising” that you’d have to do to reel in the $25 PayPal payments just seemed like away too much effort, LoL!
Certainly, here’s the revised text with a more confident tone:
No worries, it happens! Appreciate your update, Cathy, and I’m pleased to hear you made the right choice! 🙂
Jeff
how i can join in this
You’re kidding, right…?
Thanks for the article on scam jobs Jeff.
In my 5-7 years of trying to find legit WFH opps, I have fallen or almost fallen for most of the ones that you’ve listed. 😔 So you know I’ve been a victim of scams, fraud and a lot of ill-willed people 😤 lost multiple bank accounts 😤 lost my only source of income 😤 lost my families respect 😤 and now my physical and mental health are deteriorating FAST! 🤕😰😤
Now I co-own an affiliate email marketing program.
It’s been a very hard 1st year. Spent almost 500 usd of my families savings to start the site. Only earned 200usd, which was reinvested in the site. My site will be a year old in January 2020. 😔
Last week I told my team commander I was going to take a week to work on my own project.
I finally have a FREE Wix site, that I only have a few more details to add.
I love my Wix site which I will be using to boost my email marketing site (at least until it can become self-sufficient).
Lesson: sometimes we have to go through hell in order to truly see our own potential.
Keep up your great HONEST blogging! 😍
Thanks Liz- keep at it 🙂
Jeff
Wow I am shocked, you are saying that email processing is a scam and blatantly being disrespectful to your viewers so you can then redirect them to John Crestani’s internet marketing optin (a Clickbank product email optin). Very clever and also very dumb, I have personally made thousands processing legitimate emails through my email list over the last 15 years, are you saying that anyone who reads comments on your page is dumb? Wow you really are a true braindead moron Jeff! DO not trust this person, Jeff is scamming you by brainwashing your mind in a sad attempt to get you to a Clickbank email optin to make money from you. A total scam!
Hah sounds like I pissed off a product owner, whoops!
Thank you Jeff. I thought as much about the email processing. I’m looking for a job to work from home. Thanks again.
Funny thing is I know there are real online jobs but I figured this one wasn’t n did a little digging. What caught my attention was “sales”. What are they selling? It’s not on the website I just checked so it’s a new form of a ponzu scheme. I shouldn’t have to pay $25 to find out what I will be advertising. Smh
What’s this??I want to a online job. Any job.. Pls give me..
Thank you so so much for making us aware of this real scam thing! I almost paid today for that damn “email processing” thing but luckily you were here on time to save some cash. Thank you very much; I really appreciate your help
Glad to help 🙂
Jeff
Came here to show my husband that email processing IS a scam, and you did not dissapoint. This comments section is awesome, btw!
Glad to help and entertain, Mama JJ! 🙂
Jeff
I can ONLY SEE JEALOUSY HERE
Now, I can see how people are interested in Email Processing and that is why some network marketers are jealous of it.
How can you say that something that is helping people to earn a COOL $25 per invite is a SCAM. Is it because it is SIMPLE??
YES!!! The name doesn’t match how it work. BUT THE EXPLANATION IS THERE FOR EVERYONE TO READ BEFORE YOU REGISTER
You want us to trust you, talking as if you know everything, but how can I trust someone who always Insult others all because they don’t agree with you.
*TO EVERYONE*
If you want to proof it yourself, find someone you know personal as a member. Register under him/her. You will see the system will provide that persons details for you to pay the $25 to him/her. That is how it works when you too get someone to register
All what we need is money, and so far as we received our money IS NOT A SCAM!!!
I’m definitely jealous of your pyramid scheme, keep it up, I’m sure you’re making 10’s of dollars per month! 😉
XoXo
Jeff
Your a crook, someone should tie you up and throw you in the middle of I95 Earnest !
my mom sent me 25.00 in the mail once , didnt seem like a scam …..
LOL
Hey jeff this is 2018 just so you know and internet is the most popular thing in this world ….honestly people like you are brainwashing others by claiming everything is a “SCAM” .people like you claiming eveything is a scam” is only called “HATERS” because your hating on the fact that people actually make good money so easy ..you also claim that they are spamming forums ..how is that spamming? Thats called advertising ..and thats part of life.most people hate watching commercials but nothing we could do because part of life and it will always be ther ..EMAIL PROCESSING DO EXIST AND ITS YOUR CHOICE TO PAY FOR THE INSTRUCTIONS JUST LIKE U HAVE TO PAY FOR A CANDY BAR AT STORE…. $25 for instructions actually showed me more knowledge about things and is worth buying …THINK ABOUT IT GETTING A JOB IN LIFE IS NOT FREE IN THIS WORLD TODAY …NOTHING COMES FREE KNOW DAYS ..YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU WANT … What is a pryamid schem lol the way it works is like group of people in a circle handing $25 to each other .everytime it goes around in group of circle it doubles triples your money and everyone makea money ..SMARTEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY AND PEOPLE WHO WORK HARD ARE HATING ON THE FACT THAT OTHERS MAKE BETTER MONEY THAN THEM
Mr. Doe, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
Everyone reading this is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
What you described is a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal. Pyramid schemes are illegal because there is no actual product.
Thanks so much Jeff… Someone started talking-to me about that crap today, but I decided to do my finding first… And here I am, reading this from you.
Thanks so much once again.
Fantastic Charlesbenny, so glad to hear I was able to help ya out! 🙂
Jeff
I see advertisements for these in many Facebook work at home groups and I’m glad I never fell for them.
Glad I could help! 🙂
Mr. Jeff God really bless you I was about paying a $25 tonight when I saw this. Not knowing I was about to be scammed again.
Please what about copy and paste jobs? They also say $49 for one time membership are they scam as well?
Glad to help, Emmanuel!
As for copy and paste jobs, never heard of them, but if you have to PAY to do ANY job – it’s likely a scam. Have you seen my article on making money online without investment?
Jeff

Hey Abiola
Hmmm – check out my article on: How to Make Money Online Without Investment
Jeff
I purchased on the $50.00 level.. Only because it seemed legitimate ..all they do is tell you it’s not a scam but try to show you earnings that they have made . I don’t care how much I make as long as it works…
And? What happened after you purchased? Did they start giving you a ton of emails you can ‘process’ for big bucks each?
Jeff
Well damn, I wish I had read this before I bought a prepaid debit card & paid $25 & then $18 for the website!!
Sorry Kerry – maybe see if a refund is an option?
Jeff
hi Jeff, is Wealthy Affiliate real online business?
Hi Eric,
I legally cannot comment on that, but I suggest doing your own research (like I would suggest for any product) and read reviews from former members as well.
Jeff
Hi can i also do it if im from the philippines?
I think you need to re-read this post again, especially the big bold title at the top that says email processing jobs DO NOT EXIST. 🙂
Jeff
HELLO JEFF–I READ THE ARTICLE YOU ADVISED US ON WIKIPEDIA ON ‘WORK AT HOME’ SCHEME AND I WAS SHOCKED. YOU SEEM TO BE A SEASONED ONLINE MARKETER,JEFF. YET YOU FAILLED TO MENTION THAT ALMOST IN THE BEGINNING OF THE ARTICLE,WAS A DISCLAIMER. IN PART IT READS ‘IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A WORLD VIEW OF THE SUBJECT.’ IT ALSO SAYS ‘YOU MAY IMPROVE THIS ARTICLE, DISCUSS THE ISSUES ON THE TALK PAGE OR CREATE A NEW ARTICLE AS APPROPRIATE. JEFF, AS THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE WAY TO ARRIVE AT THE NUMBER 10, 6+4,7+3,ETC. THERE’S ALSO MORE THAN ONE WAY TO MARKET ONLINE. PROCESSING EMAILS FOR SOME OF US ALONG WITH ALL YOUR BUSISNESS, JEFF. BELEIVE THE TESTIMONIALS,JEFF! DON’T YOU WANT US TO BELEIVE YOU ARE NOT SCAMY? MUCH SUCCESS,JEFF
Miss Walker, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Lmao
You’re a fuckin loser dude… lol you probably made this site on a library computer
How did you know I’m at the library???
Are you the guy with the ball cap that keeps walking by?
I’ll be done when I’m done, jerk!
Haha Jeff, great response. That made my day!
I aim to please 🙂
